I AM NOT AN OBJECT
I breathe, love, think, suffer, learn, reflect... I am a woman with ideas, feelings, and a voice... Reflecting on this fact, I was surprised and wondered how many times I had been intentionally or unintentionally used as if I were an object. The history of oppression and alienation that women experience has its beginnings in the moment when they are taken as objects of exchange, resulting in the invisibility of their own choices, freedoms, and rights. I invite you to view my reality as a woman and that of those around me in an introspective, fantastical, and dreamlike way. In doing so, it becomes a stimulus and an admonition for myself, showing how through my body and my mimicry, I sensually transmit sustained actions, questioning equality in a sublime and suggestive manner. In this series, 'I Am Not an Object,' I coexist with nature: water, humidity, and the heartbeat of the earth. I blend with them, seek refuge, and at the same time, subject myself to being observed as part of the furniture. Through my work, I invite you to join me on a journey of introspection, transformation, and empowerment. We are not mere objects; we are vibrant, complex beings deserving of respect, recognition, and freedom.
